Job Description:
• Participates
with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver
comprehensive psychiatric services to the
consumers of Midwestern Colorado Mental
Health Center
•
Works a set number of hours in outpatient
components of the Center. Hours are scheduled
collaboratively with the Program Supervisors
in the offices served, coordinated through
the Medical Services Coordinator
•
Provides consultation for staff and collaborates
in treatment of Center consumers as requested
•
Participates in in-service training sessions
and clinical meetings when requested
•
Assures continuity of care for Midwestern
consumers as they transition from one treatment
modality to another
•
Performs Medicaid Medical Necessity reviews
in a timely and complete manner
•
Signs appropriate insurance forms for services
delivered by Midwestern staff
•
Attends medical staff meetings scheduled
by the Medical Director
•
Adheres to the policies and procedures of
Midwestern and the rules and regulations
of the Colorado Division of Mental Health
and the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Divisions
•
Responsible for keeping all client information
confidential under the policies and procedures
of the Center
Qualifications: Education,
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•
Licensed physician in the State of Colorado
•
Training compatible with Board Eligibility
for Psychiatry
•
Eligible for medical staff privileges at
Montrose Memorial Hospital
•
Differential diagnosis of psychiatric disorders
•
Prescription and management of psychotropic
medications
•
Clinical consultation skills
•
Basic computer and keyboarding skills
•
Ability to enter data into computer record
keeping system
